As a key component of its ongoing development, NZCEC has commissioned the design and construction of an iconic commercial office building to be situated in a new technology park at the Southern gateway to Taupo, on the intersection of the State Highway 1 bypass to Taupo (currently under construction) and State Highway 5 to Napier. Also be located in the park will be Waiariki Institute of Technology. Stage one will be ready for occupation in late 2010.
The new building will incorporate exceptional levels of sustainable design, both in materials selection and energy use and conservation. There will be generous facilities for meetings of up to 80 people as well as extensive areas for display and demonstration of energy technologies. Office accommodation will be adjustable to tenant requirements and available either as participation in open design or in more private, enclosed spaces. Tenants of the centre will enjoy high visibility due in part to its location, but also because frequent events will draw those with an interest in clean energy, both from around New Zealand and around the world.
Approximately half of the available space has been committed to a range of local and international businesses. The balance of space is still available and can be leased on a shared facility basis or as a partitioned area of as little as 50 square metres. Enquiries regarding tenancy opportunities, technology demonstration or sponsorship opportunities are welcome. Call David Wright on 021 776 073 or email wrightdavid7@gmail.com.
